Bは昨日Aと観た映画についてネガティブな感想を持っているわけですから、Aに同意をするかどうかにおいては、Aが映画に対してネガティブな感想を持っているか、ポジティブな感想を持っているかが関係してきます。 しかし、BのAに対する同意を表わす表現は、Bが肯定文を使うか否定文を使うかによって、最後が'too'になるか'either'が決まり、Aの発話が肯定文であるか否定文であるかには影響を受けません。同じ同意を表わすのに肯定文を使う場合は、"I thought the less of it too."と言うように、'too'をつけるでしょう。これは、Bの表現がAの表現に依存しない形で答えられているからだと思います。 それに対して、"Me too."（"So do I."）や"Me neither."（"Neither do I"）といった表現で答える場合は、答える側はAの発話を一部借りているわけですから、Aの発話が肯定文であるか、否定文であるかが関係してくるのだと思います。

either/neitherに関する過去の質問もチェックしてみましたが、いまいちの見込めなかったもので、同じような質問になってしまって恐縮なのですが、質問させてください。 否定文に対する同意表現として使われる either/neither の使い分けが、実会話中にこんがらがってしまうことがあります。 例えば使いやすいeither/neitherとして・・・ A: I don't want to go to the game tomorrow. B: I don't, either. / Me neither. / Neither Do I. 頭で深く考えるよりも、こんな感じ？ということで独学の中から認識し感覚で実際に使っているeither/neitherですが、これらは合っています・・・よね？ 本題、というか混乱してしまうものとして・・・ この辺りがちょっと混乱してしまいます。 A: It's not raining today. B: Yeasterday, either. / Neither was yesterday. （今日は雨じゃないね） （昨日も雨じゃなかったよ） ※Bの2番目をwasにしてみましたが、これは良いのでしょうか？ A: She didn't show up for her gig last night. B: She didn't her last one's（week's）, either. / Neither was her last one's（week's）... （彼女ったら昨日のギグ、すっぽかしたのよ） （先週のもだよ） A: It doesn't rain all through the year in this area. B: Snow, either. / Neither does snow. （この辺りは年間通してほとんど雨が降らないのよ。） （雪もだよ） ↑ 自作した英文/訳なので、ぜんぜん自信ありませんが、日本語訳の部分を見ていただき、その正しい英文が知りたいのです。 ※ ちなみに最後の会話例のA部分を、It hardly ever rains all through year in this area.にした場合は続く文章は違ってくるのでしょうか？ また、英語が得意でない私には、このeither / Neitherは頭がいたいのですが、上記のような各例文、ネイティブ・スピーカーはeither / Neitherの代わり、tooを使っちゃえ、という感じで、It wasn't yesterday, too.とかしてしまうことはないのでしょうか？ 現地での英語に触れていらっしゃる方からの、実践的なアドバイスをいただけたらうれしく思います。 ごちゃごちゃと恐縮ですが、どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

I don't like the crowds or the heat. という文が出ていました。「私は人ごみも暑さも好きではない」という意味ですが、「どちらも～ない」という場合、neither norとかnot either or を使うと習ったことがあります。 この文の場合ですが、I don't like either the crowds or the heat.と言う事ができるかと思いますが、最初に挙げた文もよく使われるのでしょうか？その場合、口語の場合のeitherの省略と考えていいのでしょうか？ またI like neither the crowds nor the heat.と言うとすれば、不自然でしょうか？ 辞書の例文では It is neither blue nor green.という文が出ていました。この文は It is not either blue or green. It is not blue or green.と言い換えることができますか？またどれが一番口語として自然でしょうか？ イギリス英語とアメリカ英語で言い方が違うということはありますか？ 以上、疑問点をどなたか説明してください。

- too と either の違いについて質問です
too と either の使い方の違いは、基本的にtoo は肯定文、either は否定文に対する同意に使うのだと思いますが、例えばその否定文がネガティブな内容の否定文ではなく、ポジティブな内容の否定文の場合(例 : I didn't drop it. や、I am not infected.等) にもeither を使うのでしょうか？ 教えてください。よろしくお願い致します。
