が、なにぶん素人なのでこれで外国人が読んで理解できるか
わかりません。添削、指導お願いします。

そして観客の一人にこのこよりでしっかりと縛ってもらう。
残りのこよりで最初の1本にクロスするように硬く縛り付ける。
これで両手の親指は完全に自由を奪われたはずである。
刀が登場。
両手を縛られたマジシャンは、そこに手を突き通す。が、指もこよりも元のまま。
今度は逆に指を引き戻す。
と、これもまた、元通り。
常識的に考えれば、指かこよりのどちらかを切断しなければ実現しえないマジックである。
今から１世紀近くも前にマジックはここまで進化していた。」

Assistant takes a sword.
Magician's fingers can pierce through the sword, paper strings

And then,his hands back from a sword, but they have no damage.
It is impossible in general if his finger or strings must cuts.

First, the magician takes two paper strings.
He makes one* into a loop ,putting his crossed thumbs through it .
His thumbs are bound with the loop*,and then tight* with the other
string* to cross it* by a spectator so that his thumbs should never move.
Secondly, his assistant holds a sword.
The magician puts his bound fingers close* to its blade* and passes* them through it,then pulling the fingers back, but neither* of the fingers nor the string is damaged
This trick* seems impossible in general unless either his fingers
or the strings are cut off. The magic showed a remarlable progress up to this level nearly one century ago.

「両手を縛られたマジシャンは、そこに手を突き通す」の意味がわかりません
pierceを使うと「指が剣に穴を開けて突き破る」ことになります。
「自信あり」というのは文法的には間違いはないという意味で、もっと簡潔な言い回しがあると思います。

そうですよね。口頭、というか文章では説明しにくいから、つまりこういうことなのよって自分のサイトに現象の画像貼って見てもらえば回答者が答えやすいと思って、用意してアドレスを書いたら教えてgooサイドでそういうのは止めてくださいってその部分は削除された質問になってしまったのです～。うう。

マジシャンの両手の親指同士をがっちりとこよりで結ばれた状態で手のひらを合わせた拝みポーズのような形となっております。刀は立ててアシスタントが持っています。マジシャンはその立てた刀の前に立ち、結ばれた親指を刀に貫きます。が、指はおろか、こよりも切れてない。で、立てた刀を抱きかかえるような状態になっても、指もこよりも切断する事無く、手を刀から「引き戻す（外れる）」も出来ます。「そこに手を突き通す」の「そこ」は刀の刃のことです。「手」というより「結ばれた指」が言葉として適当だったかもしれません。

伝わったでしょうか？現象見せたい～。

「突き通す」というよりは「手が刀を通りぬける（無傷）」感じになります。適当な単語ってなんでしょうか？
