1.かっこの部分を節を用いて書き換えなさい。 Be more careful of (your conduct) in future. 2.単文に書き換えなさい。 Knowing is one thing and doing is quite another.

１Be more careful of what you conduct yourself in future. ？ S V O だと再帰代名詞yourselfは目的語になりますので、名詞であるwhatが要素外になります。 Be more careful that you conduct yourself well in future 書き換えは（ )内ですので。Be careful of のofを消すのはルール違反でしょう。 意味的にも不明瞭です「行儀よく振舞うことをもっと気をつけよ」？？ Be more careful so (that) you may conduct yourself well in futureならわかりますが。 私の答え Be more careful of how you conduct yorself in future. 「身の振る舞い方には、これからはもっと気をつけなさい」 ２Doing is quite another thing than knowing. anotherが「別の」の意味になるのは限定用法〈another＋名詞〉の場合のみ Doing is quite other thing than knowing.なら正解でしょう。 しかしthan は一般に後にS+be/doが続く接続詞と考えられています。 He is taller than I am のようにしばしばbe動詞も伴う。 Doing is quite other thing than knowing （is） . 設問は単文にせよということなので不適切。 Knowing and doing are two separate things. separateは「離れた」「別個の」本来1つのものであったものが分かれたものについて使われると思うのですが？ 私の答え Knowing and doing are quite different things.

as「～するにつれて」の書き換えなのですが、 as the area is more densely populated, it is closer to rat paradise. この文を比較に書き換えると、 the more densely populated the area, the closer it is to rat paradise. になるようなのですが、 元々の文のas節はpopulatedがCのSVCの文だと思うのですが、 書き換えた後の最初のthe moreの節は、倒置が起きているにせよ元々の文にあった動詞のisがないので文として成立しないように思えます。 ここで質問なのですが、 asからthe moreに書き換えると、元々の動詞がis(be動詞)なら省略されるのでしょうか? 他のgrowを使った「年をとるにつれて～」の有名な文はthe moreに書き換えてもgrowが動詞としてしっかり残っていたので疑問におもいました。 回答よろしくお願いします。

下記の英文の意味を教えて下さい。 It was one thing not to know one's longitude while travelling on land; not being able to calculate longitude at sea meant that navigators were sailing without knowing how far east or west they were from land. 自分でも↓のように訳してみましたが、いまひとつわかりませんでした。 「陸地で移動する間、経度がわからないことは一つのことだ。海上で経度を計算できないということは、ナビゲーターが自分たちが陸地から東西にどれほど離れているかわからずに航海しているということを意味する」 A is one thing; B is another. 「AとBは別々のものだ」と関係あるかなと思いましたが、肝心の another がなく。。。最初のone thing もどういう意味かわからず(^-^; お手数かけますが、ご教授頂けましたら幸いです。宜しくお願い致します。
